in the heart of the Catskill Park. Shokan is a small town with all the essentials. 10 mins to Woodstock and Phoenicia, 20 minutes to Kingston, and 2 hrs from NYC. 2 min drive to the Ashokan Reservoir and the Rail Trail. I own 5 houses on 18 acres on two corner lots between two roads in a quiet residential town. One is a dead-end road with little traffic. That road can also be blocked during the day of filming. I have had a film crew shoot a short film here previously and there was plenty of room for the food, wardrobe, and gear trucks, and shuttles. The main house is also an Airbnb and there are 4 more on this road that is all within walking distance to the location. The talent and crew rented them all and it was very successful. I have woods, yard, streams, roads, and houses available for locations. I did provide many props from my house and garage, donated food, fixed their broken extension cords, let them use my log splitter, and tractor as well as provided them generators and heat sources when the temperature got cold. I also arranged for them to film in a local church. There is a park 3000 feet away also. The Ashokan rail trail is right down the road and I own a two-story house right at the parking area which is also a commercial bicycle rental.
