Bearcove

Two hours north of Manhattan, situated within the most beautiful rolling hills of the Mid Hudson Valley, 2.5 lush-green acres center around the Prow Front Post and Beam House built in the mid 70’s. Light floods through large south facing windows and skylights throughout the day onto a thoughtfully designed interior. Minimal design dictates the loft-like openness of the living area with its cathedral ceiling emphasizing stunning views of the surrounding grounds and two ponds. The house is furnished with both modern and vintage pieces keeping a lightness and ease. Following this concept, the simple, open kitchen focuses on social interaction with a concrete countertop island facing the dining area. Two large decks let you enjoy the outdoors from an elevated standpoint, almost like a tree house. While one pond is kept a serene place in front of a backdrop of ferns and trees, the other is being transitioned into a natural spring fed swim pond. In the wintertime, it freezes over to turn into a perfect ice skating rink. The entire house and 2.5 acres property are accessible and available for filming and photo shoots, The surroundings are quiet and private and there are stunning locations nearby to venture to as well. Generous daylight floods into the house all day from east to west, but the high ceilings allow to set lights if desired. The minimal design provides a perfect canvas for many needs. The property is filled with natural backdrops and has manicured as well as rugged areas to choose from, including old sheep farm stone walls. Nearby locations, like the Ashokan Reservoir and the Peekamoose Blue Hole, Minnewaska State Park and the historic Town of StoneRidge are an easy 20 Minutes drive away, but stunning views reveal themselves in walking distance. Basic equipment, such as steamer, racks and some stands are available on site.
